With deep gratitude and sadness, we announce that Antonia Gonzales will step down as host of National Native News on March 27, 2026. We are grateful to Antonia for 22 years of reporting and the voice she brought to NNN. We wish her well and thank her for the care and clarity she brought to stories from Indian Country.
During her tenure, Antonia produced many impactful specials for Koahnic, including the Climate Desk, Alaska’s Native Voice, and election coverage, and she mentored many up-and-coming journalists.
Jill Fratis, journalist for KNBA 90.3 FM, will serve as Interim Host of National Native News and will ensure the program continues to serve audiences across the country with the same level of quality storytelling, without interruption. We look forward to her success.
